This morning, I stepped out the door and it was cloudy, cool, and slightly rainy. Which means it feels like winter is coming in western Oregon. And that put me in one of those moods, one of those moods that make my family and friends think I’m crazy. I felt the need to listen to Christmas music on my way to work. Granted, my commute is only about 10 minutes (which includes a stop at Starbucks).
I love Christmas music all year round, I won’t lie…but how about you? I’ve really been trying to think of something that will get you to interact more with my blog. So tell me please? When is it to early to start listening? I really do try to wait until after Thanksgiving. Our local radio station that plays non-stop Christmas music used to wait until Black Friday too, but now they start well before Thanksgiving!
Hi! I'm Ian, and the handsome blond guy with me is my husband Sam. We are newlyweds, starting our new life together. We love our home and always strive to make our home a comfortable and inviting place for our family and friends. What makes a house a home? I think it's all about living authentically and comfortably. Your home should be your haven that fits you like your favorite pair of jeans. Living comfortably and authentically means that you are surrounded by people and things that you love.
My philosophy is simply--if you love it, it's perfect! Does everything in your home have to match? NO! Decorate with what you like the way you like it. Does everything you cook have to be low calorie? NO! I strive to cook healthy meals, but I will always love butter and heavy cream. Do I always have to wear designer brands? NO! I love to buy designer brands to decorate my home and to wear, but I refuse to pay full price. Believe me, you can always get what you want on sale or clearance if you learn to shop well, use the right coupons, and peruse the clearance aisle.

I listen to Christmas music any time I feel like it (though Sam might complain), but definitely on days when the weather starts to feel “Christmasy”. Do you have any recommendations for great Christmas albums?
Hi Jaimie,
Thanks so much for your comment! I appreciate it ๐ I really love “The Andy Williams Christmas Album” and “Christmas” by Michael Buble. I added links to them both on Amazon below. What are some of your favorites?
I feel it in my gut when it is time… yes the air becomes crisp and the foggy mornings can set a holiday mood, but there is always a feeling inside telling me itโs time. Although as there is no great Thanksgiving music, we usually start around thanksgiving as a family with the more classic used whereas our classical and choral Christmas music starts nearer to Christmas.
Hi Marinna! Thanks for sharing ๐ That is so interesting, I think I sometimes find myself differentiating between classical and choral and “classic” Christmas as well. I also know that much of that means your dad will be playing music the only way it should be listened to…LOUD ๐
You might hate me…not until at least December 1. As well as decorations donโt go up until December. I also am the type of person that doesnโt decorate for holidays…so I am just like the grinch of all holidays.
Oh, I have already started! I also like Andy Williams, Perry Como, Bing , Michael Buble, Pentatonix Christmas, Rascal Flatts and all my favorite Christmas worship songs! It is never too early, is it???

Lol…not at all! I know so many people that are the same way. It seems like we do tend to push the holidays closer and closer to one another these days. Or “Christmas Creep” as target calls it. Take a look at this article https://www.nbcnews.com/business/consumer/target-taking-christmas-creep-just-time-thanksgiving-n813756 I love love love to decorate for holidays though…. ๐

This is a bit like asking “When is it proper to drink Champagne?” And we all know what the answer is to THAT question!
